Skelia Supports the Ukrainian-Belgian Cultural Project “Classic for Peace” on the Occasion of Belgian King’s Day
November 17, 2015 – Kyiv, Ukraine – Skelia, an international provider of software development, quality assurance, consulting and outsourcing services, sponsored the “Classic for Peace” concert performed on November, 15 in the Taras Shevchenko National Opera and Ballet Theatre of Ukraine. The event was organized under the auspices of the Embassy of the Kingdom of Belgium in Ukraine on the occasion of King’s Day.
King’s Day is celebrated in Belgium since 1866 on November, 15 symbolizing the unity of the Belgian nation in its linguistic, political, and cultural diversity. The latest events in the world show that intercultural understanding and tolerance are vital for peace and sustainable development.
The “Classic for Peace” concert represents a peaceful response to violence in Paris and Ukraine, dedicated to all victims of terrorism in the world. Dirk Brossé, the conductor and composer say “The title of the concert speaks for itself – “Classic for Peace”. It is a symbol of understanding between people of different cultures and nationalities that contributes to further spreading of peace and mutual goodwill, strengthening the ties of friendship.”
The “Classic for Peace” concert was a unique opportunity to enjoy music conducted by the Maestro Brossé and performed by the Academic Symphony Orchestra “INSO-Lviv.” The program included works of Dirk Brossé and Herman van Rompuy, President of the European Council (2010-2014). The concert featured the soloists – a talented Belgian soprano, Hanne Roos, and Ukrainian musician, Artem Shmahaylo.
